Summary: Francesca Hernandez is a talented horsewoman and fencer, as skilled as any man. Her grandfather, Don Francisco, believes that his grandchild is a boy and calls for his grandson to help him in his feud with Ramon Oliveros and his family. Francesca disguises herself as a caballero and through a series of stunning feats is able to recover the family’s fortune. Ramon’s cousin, Roger, returns from Europe and falls in love with Francesca (out of disguise). After she defeats Ramon is a duel, she must fight Roger. Roger doesn’t recognize her until after he has wounded her. They end the feud.
