He plays a Confederate soldier who dies in the arms of the production’s star, Ginger Bolivar. Don’s friends find the play so amusing, they arrange for it to play in New York City. There Ginger thinks the audience’s laughter is ridicule and she goes back home. Realizing his true feelings, Don arrives to proclaim his love for Ginger.
